Hi from UBC,
I am having a problem installing vortex and the cecil front end.
I downloaded the Sparc(V8)/Solaris version of
- Common parts of Vortex infrastructure (have to have them)
- Cecil front-end
from http://www.cs.washington.edu/research/projects/cecil/Release/index.html
I believe I have followed to instructions in notes/INSTALL.
The machine I am installing on is
> uname -a
> SunOS granville.cs.ubc.ca 5.8 Generic_108528-11 sun4u sparc
SUNW,Sun-Fire-280R
When I run the command 'csh -f bin/shell/SETUP' I get the error:
- Building conservative GC -
../solaris/setjmp_test
This appears to be a SPARC running SUNOS5
Stack appears to grow down, which is the default.
A good guess for STACKBOTTOM on this machine is 0xFFBF0000.
Note that this may vary between machines of ostensibly
the same architecture (e.g. Sun 3/50s and 3/80s).
On many machines the value is not fixed.
A good guess for ALIGNMENT on this machine is 4.
Generic mark_regs code may work
../solaris/gctest
STACK_GROWS_DOWN is defd, but stack appears to grow up
sp = 0xffbef4ac, GC_stackbottom = 0x0
stack direction 3
gmake: *** [KandRtest] Abort
------ compilation failed ------
I have looked at the file 'runtime/gc/conservative-gc/src/config.h'
but this seems a little daunting... Do you have and suggestions for me?
Thanks!
