    There was a partial formalization of AOP in FOOL'02:

      M. Wand, G. Kiczales, C. Dutchyn, "A Semantics for Advice and Dynamic
      Join Points in Aspect-Oriented Programming"

    Don't know whether it's online, but anyone interested can borrow my
    proceedings... er, "Informal Workshop Record".
