I think if we got a router then we'd also like their CSM (Cisco Service
Management) package, since it seems like you don't get the NetFlow
statistics without it.
If the dept ever wanted to do comparisons against "industry products"
then having a copy of their web cache and local & distributed director
might be useful.
All of these are things though that have a non-zero probability of
gathering dust.

Cisco has indicated that they'd be willing to give us any
(reasonable) amount of equipment we might need for Detour,
in addition to a pile of cash.
Is there anything that Cisco makes that we would want?
(Ie, do they make gigabit Ethernet adapters and switches?
If we had our own router, would that enable us to get BGP feeds?)
I don't want to ask for stuff that would sit on a shelf.
There is a short fuse on this; the proposal needs to
be finalized before we go off to Sigcomm.
