Subject: Global Internet 99 Call for Papers
Note, we're doing an experiment this year that allows for
responding to reviews before the final decisions are made,
and also for submitting first to SIGCOMM--see the CFP for
details.
CALL FOR PAPERS
Fourth Global Internet Symposium
in conjunction with Globecom '99
Rio de Janeiro, December 1999
Call For Papers and Tutorial Proposals
Global Internet '99 solicits technical papers and tutorial proposals
on Internet-related topics. The Program Committee encourages
submissions
describing promising work in progress, original speculations about the
future of the Internet, and progressive position papers. Papers on
experimental systems and results are especially encouraged. Topics of
interest include, but are not limited to:
Charging models
Mobile computing
Internet security
Internet telephony
New Web architectures
Wireless Internet access
TCP and transport protocols
Application level protocols
Wide Area network management
Policy support and enforcement
New Internet services architecture
Routing and multicast for large networks
Internet performance measurement and evaluation
Adaptive applications for heterogeneous Internet
Distributed systems for the Next Generation Internet
Infrastructure for better-effort services packet networks
Instructions
Technical papers should be submitted to the Globecom committee using
the general Globecom submission process. In order to ensure
that your paper is properly routed to GI99, it is VERY IMPORTANT that
you explicitly identify GI99 as the intended symposium to which you are
submitting your paper. Failure to do so may result in your paper being
forwarded to another symposium. Manuscripts should be in English and
should not exceed 3000 words. Authors are encouraged to format submitted
manuscripts to fit within five (double-column) conference proceedings
pages. More detailed instructions, including submission instructions,
are available at:
http://www.globecom99.mhw.com.br/instructions/frmain.htm
Experiments
We are running two experiments this year:
Authors will be given a chance to submit a 200-word response to
reviewers'
comments to correct any perceived FACTUAL errors with the reviews.
Instructions for rebuttal submission will be provided with the reviews.
We allow papers not accepted by SIGCOMM99 to be re-submitted, WITHOUT
modification, to GI99 after SIGCOMM99's notification date. Along with
these submissions authors MUST submit their SIGCOMM99 reviews and MAY
attach their response to SIGCOMM99 reviewers' comments. Response to
SIGCOMM99 reviewers' comments are similarly limited to 200 words.
Authors of SIGCOMM99 manuscripts will NOT get a second chance to respond
to GI99 reviewers.
This call for paper is also available at:
