Yeah, I've found a few of these in the last couple months... I apparently
IBM is working on a similar project. Novels BorderManager is the software
version. Cheriton was right...

The "SoftRouter Plus" is a transparent web cache (which presumably
involves some gross TCP hacks that we would be proud of), NAT, firewall,
DNS server, DHCP server, etc, etc...
