You need to be added to the following UNIX groups (e-mail from Craig or Susan to csl-staff@cs and becker@cs): dyncomp, mflow, spin.
AFS is currently available only on the project Alphas, not on GWS Alphas. Wally is a generally accessible project Alpha with AFS installed, so you can use that. You should also request accounts on the SPIN Alphas (e-mail from Craig or Susan to Dave Becker, becker@cs). We have been asked not to use the servers: chiffon, lace, satin, silk, velvet. Machines you should be able to use include: alpo, calico, canvas, chintz, cotton, flannel, khaki, lenin, scaup, spandex, wigeon, wool. These machines are on people's desks, so please be courteous.
You need to be added to the AFS group matthai:rtcg. Anyone in the group should be able to do that with:
pts adduser -group matthai:rtcg -user username
