Good luck and all that. I'm sure you're gonna kick ass down there even more
than you did here. Whatever they pay you it isn't enough...

Subject: hi
Hi all,
Just wanted to drop you a note to let you know that my California visit
will be a bit longer than i had originally planned. If i know Stefan,
many of you have probably already heard about this, ;-) but I've decided
to take a break from the grad school thing to give the real world a try:
i've joined FastForward Networks (ffnet.com), a startup in San Francisco.
They're doing some exciting stuff, and there are a lot of cool people
there that i know from Berkeley and UW. I'm looking forward to having a
good time there and learning a lot.
Thanks to everybody at UW for a great experience. I feel fortunate to have
worked with what is surely one of the smartest, funnest family of
researchers around. I will miss you all a lot, especially the band (i
haven't yet found any opportunities down here to don a dress and bang on
drums while screeching in falsetto, "lick my lips, i'm on fire...";-). But
if there's one thing that moving from the Bay Area to Seattle and back
taught me, it's that it's a small world. So i'm sure i'll see you all in
the future, and i'm looking forward to it (especially if you need a guest
appearance at a party by a screeching, wannabe drummer...).
Sorry for the cheesy e-mail, but it seemed like the way to go since
i'm down here right now and won't see you guys for a few weeks at
least.
cheers,
Neal
